Although mindful of the rich and rigorous tradition of handwork, my interests lie in the creative viability and versatility of hand embroidery, particularly with regards to the potential it offers to a contemporary textile art practice. Second-hand textiles are richly imbued with history and meaning and by incorporating them into my work, I build upon this history, thus creating new narratives.
