Irrelevant Objects incorporates vintage tablecloths and napkins. The stitched text of helpful guidelines for the use and care of household linens taken from a 1923 publication entitled Woman’s Institute Library of Dressmaking, was painstakingly hand stitched over several months. It is rather poignant that items so treasured and essential to a woman’s life have become, in our disposable age, irrelevant.  The stains on organza are like ghosts, faint reminders of those that made the stains and used the cloths.
